Awards and Success

WINNER of 2025 LTA Awards in Oxfordshire for:

TENNIS OPENED UP

​

We are incredibly proud to have won this amazing award. We have put in a lot of effort to create a welcoming, inclusive and supportive coaching program across all our venues and school links and to be recognised for this is an incredible result.

​

When Edward founded the Excel Tennis Academy at age 19 he had a clear goal to create a coaching organisation that broke down boundaries, created opportunities for children and adults to learn to play tennis and turn tennis in to a sport for all. Ed is incredibly proud of his team and thankful to the clubs for their support and trust in him and the Excel Tennis Academy as they look to work with and support local communities.

Why did we win this year?

​

- A schools program that worked with over 30 schools running curriculum, after school clubs and tennis festivals seeing over 3000 students

​

- Offered discounts to BLUE LIGHT WORKERS and card holders, including, Police, Fire, Ambulance, NHS staff, social workers and many more

​

- Offer discounts to local School teachers and school staff

​

- Created Walking Tennis sessions for older players, people with injuries and people returning from life changing health issues

​

- Linked the Tim Henman Foundation offering coaching to SEND pupils at 2 local primary schools for a year

​

- Financially supported a number of players and families who would have stopped having coaching by offering them free lessons ongoing until their situations change or ‘pay when you can’

​

- Joined with the local council on their 'YouMove' initiative to offer discounts to children on free school meals at all the local schools

​

- Offered 30 free spaces on holiday camps to the local primary schools to use for fundraising or for children who wouldn’t have the opportunities to access tennis lessons, or other activities outside of school.
