Should my child be competing?
Yes! Competition is a great way for pupils to develop their skills and understanding of the game no matter what ability.

Which age group should my child enter in to?
LTA tournaments are sorted by ages 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U

 

8U ages are generally mixed gender competitions. 9U is often mixed gender however some may not. From ages 10U upwards competitions are generally gender specific.

How much does it cost to play a match?
Different tournaments charge different entry fees, that usually range from £12 to £20. Excel Tennis Events are run at a lower cost to try help more people play.

Do I need to be a club member?
You do not need to be a member of a tennis club, but you will need an LTA - if you do not already have this you can register for free using the link below:

 



Will coaches tell me which events to enter?
Coaches can advise which events are most suitable, but to find all events that are running please visit the LTA website and use their ‘find competition’ tool.




How can I find information on when/where tournaments are?
As a registered LTA member you have access to your owner ‘player’ page where you can search for events running in your area, as well as lots of other tools.
